Nobel Peace Prize laureate Yemeni journalist and politician Tawakkul Karman was questioned by reporters about wearing hijab. The answer he gave in beautifully clear language impressed the civilized people of the world:

“In the early days man was almost naked and as man’s intelligence developed he began to wear clothes. The position I am in today and what I am wearing represents the higher thought and civilization of man, which man has achieved through many years of pursuit. This is not backwardness; rather the removal of clothing is backwardness and a return to the barbarism of ancient times.”
